We’re helping pandas chill with solar

For adults and children alike, a visit to the zoo is still one of our favourite family days out.

It’s not just the opportunity to come face-to-face with amazing animals, but also a reminder of the importance of the zoo’s valuable conservation work and sustainable practices. It’s something we’re proud to support.

One way we do this is by helping two of Adelaide Zoo’s most famous inhabitants, giant pandas Wang Wang and Fu Ni, live a comfortable life in one of the greenest enclosures in the southern hemisphere. Solar Panels installed in the Bamboo Forest contributes to making sure the pandas stay cool by keeping their rocks chilled to 12 degrees.

Since we began our partnership with Zoos South Australia in 2010, we have shared an ongoing commitment to reducing carbon emissions. One of our latest projects was the recent installation of a 220kW solar system to power six buildings at their open range Monarto Zoo.
